SimbaNET Redefines Connectivity for SMEs with its New Products
SimbaBIZ addresses the difficulties SMEs are facing when it comes to their online presence for secure transactions and communicating with their Global audience, which will give them a global competitive advantage.
Monday, 2015, Nairobi, Kenya: SimbaNET, a Regional data and telecommunications operator, has enhanced its SME products as it seeks to further support the growth of local SMEs in driving East Africa’s economy.
According to the firm’s Chief Operating Officer for Kenya, Tony Wood, the firm has introduced SimbaBIZ products to tap into the rapidly expanding Small and Medium Entreprise (SME) market in Kenya and the wider East Africa Region by offering more secure connectivity solutions for the customers, with value added packages that customer feedback has shown is of real benefit to them. The solution is delivered on fibre Infrastructure covering the whole of Nairobi while Mombasa roll out has started last year. Other regions will also start this year.
SimbaBIZ, he added, will redefine connectivity in the SME market by addressing the difficulties companies are facing when it comes to domain and web hosting, cloud solutions and telephony services, which will give them a global competitive edge.
“We want to solve the current and future telecommunication needs of the customer by giving them solutions which will give them a competitive edge in the evolving technological market,” he said Monday morning at a Nairobi hotel. SME’s don’t always have the IT skills and resources to be able to compete online effectively so this product bundle allows them to market themselves globally.
The SimbaBIZ comes with three packages: 8, 16 and 32, which depends on the requirements of the customer. The numbers signify megabits per second (Mbps), the speed at which data transfer is measured at.
The packages are flexible and support the SME as their business grows and all packages will come with webhosting, domain name, Internet Protocol (IP) telephony, unified threat management, cloud disaster recovery, basic TV and free conference call. This package offers customers all elements to securely take their business online.
Telephony Bundles, an exciting feature, comes with a digital cordless handset and 300 free global voice minutes. Calls to any network costs Kshs2 per minute and is not affected by expensive roaming charges.
“This saves them operational costs, allowing them to concentrate on their businesses and maximize their income earnings,” says Mr Wood.
Kenya is constantly facing the threat on cyber security as it matures its information landscape and more businesses transact online. All solutions come with security against hacking, virus and malwares so customers can focus on their core business activities. SimbaNET has deployed it’s Unified Threat Management (UTM) service which spots weak points and secures them. Also the firm’s firewalls filters against unwanted contents which enhances cyber security.
“There can sometimes be a lack of awareness to the dangers surrounding on-line security which hinders progression of business among the SMEs. Finally, Security issues can often be perceived as too technical, or too expensive so this product aims to address these concerns” signed off Mr Wood.
